Sunday Skiing

Went snowboarding yesterday with a few good friends. Had to wake up at 5 in the morning, but it was worth it. A quick breakfast, followed by a two hour bus ride, which left some time for napping and listening to music.
Once at the mountain, my friends and I took to the slopes. Nobody got hurt - too badly - though one among our crew broke a snowboard binding and ended up buying a new pair on the mountainside. He's happy though. His new ones are much better.
Snow wasn't too bad either... A bit icy when we first got there, since the hill had yet to see a lot of sun. But it was a beautiful day, thank goodness. Didn't need to wear any more than a hoodie.
We took a break for lunch (noodle cup and Coke Zero. Godly.), and headed out for a few more hours.
The bus ride back was fun too. We watched some Disney movie on the tiny bus tv's, and made a stop at an A&W/Esso station. Needless to say, we were satisfied.
All in all, it was a fun day, as any day on the slopes would be, made better by the hilarious crew of people that came along.

Owee.

My shins are feeling the hurt today.
Why I joined running, I'm not entirely sure. I must have been crazy. Actually, clinically insane. When I run, nausea is almost guaranteed. Kicks in sometimes after only 10 minutes or so. Some days, my legs feel like lead, and lifting them takes so much effort.
Sad.
Muscle burn, side stitches, cramps, dehydration... Most of the time, I ask myself "whyyyyy on earth am I still running?". Nobody can actually, physically MAKE me go, right?
But still, I keep going. The next 100 meters. The next kilometer. The next 8 kilometers.
The promise that in x amount of time, I'll come to a walk, then a complete stop, is enough to keep me going.
Still. Running is for crazy people.
